The village of Barboleuse is set up with skiers in mind. Local Ski shops can supply you with the equipment you need, and the cable car, a 3 minute walk from the car park of Barboleuse, will take you up onto the Villars ski area, 125km of prepared piste and over 50km of cross-country trails
The patisserie, chocolaterie and tearoom Charlet-Ancay in Barboleuse is next to the train station and tourist office. As well as buying your daily bread and croissants there we suggest you try their fruit tart. Open Tuesday to Saturday 7-18.30pm Sunday 7-18pm
Visit the castle of Chillon on Lake Geneva www.chillon.ch. Lord Byron visited and was inspired to write the poem The Prisoner of Chillon. The castle is also one of the settings in Henry James's novel Daisy Miller
