The chalet lies above the village of Barboleuse in the French-speaking area of Switzerland
There is a train station giving access to the town of Bex in the Rhone Valley below, and to Villars and the mountains above
Villars is 3 km west of Barboleuse, and has excellent facilities
The Chalet is a 1¾ hour drive from Geneva airport
Access
You will need a car unless you are prepared to walk up and down from the chalet to the village of Barbalouse for supplies. To reach the chalet there is a stairway of 50 steps up to the front door
Getting There
Airport or train pick-up can be arranged. In winter you will need a car with chains, as the road up to the chalet is quite steep. You may want a car for grocery shopping, and to explore the area

You can hire a car form Geneva airport or locally from Villars www.garagealpauto.ch
It takes 1¾ hours to drive from the airport
Train
It takes 2 hours by train from Geneva Airport to Barboleuse. Main line train information www.sbb.ch
If you choose to take the train from the airport you will need to change in Bex and take the mountain railway up to Barboleuse or on to Villars, where you can pick up a hire car
Walking
You may wish to walk up to the chalet from Barbolouse - it’s a steep 40 minute walk up!
